A little bark about us...

Sarah, the owner of Riley's Grooming Co. holds a City & Guilds qualification with over 10 years of experience in caring and grooming dogs to pet and breed standard.

 

Beginning at 19 years old, I attended the leading dog grooming college, Kirkley Hall, where I gained both Levels 2 & 3 in City & Guilds Dog Grooming Qualifications. I continued my practical education at a local dog groomers to gain more experience and practical confidence.

 

Quite quickly, I had the opportunity to open up my own dog grooming

business by age 21. This became a huge over-night success. With my diary booked out, often months in advance, I was able to offer job opportunities to trainee and experienced dog groomers. I rented tables to reduce our waiting times and we quickly gained a really good, solid reputation for full dog care - resulting in many loyal customers.

 

Falling pregnant with my first son Anthony in 2018, I had to take a small step back from working but managed some great dog groomers to continually build the salons reputation for quality. With further hard work, the salon blossomed and I fell pregnant with my second son, Stephen. COVID hit and, as with all businesses, we had to close for a short while. Thankfully, with a great support network, we were able to

re-open, bigger and better than ever.

 

We moved the salon (only a few doors away) to provide a contemporary, high standard grooming space. Having a family was naturally becoming more demanding. So I decided to sell my first little salon onto someone that I could fully trust to do the very best for our existing and new customers. I continue to work 1-2 days a week, as the salon is still thriving, for my loyal customers and dogs within that area.

 

Arriving home one evening to my young dog, Riley, being extremely unwell and deteriorating very quickly - we had to rush him to an out of hours vets. Unfortunately there was no saving him and with a great shock, we lost our fun 5 year old handsome boy, to cancer.

 

He was the biggest, larger than life, black labrador and he has left the largest hole in all of our hearts. After a few short months, the idea came to open a smaller scale, bespoke dog groomers from my home in his honour. So I decided to name it after him and that is how ‘Riley’s Grooming Co.’ was founded. We have created a modern, high-spec, 1 on 1 scale dog groomers to make sure your dog feels extra safe and at home.

I have also invested, as I’ve always done, in the best professional standard grooming equipment and products to provide the highest quality for each individual dogs needs.
